Component 2c. Managing Classroom Procedures

Establishing Procedures and Routines

* Job Chart from my Junior Block placement at Taylor Elementary in Columbia, Pennsylvania.

Managing classroom procedures is essential for learning to take place in the classroom. I believe that procedures, routines, and classroom expectations should be established during the first week of school, and should be provided with clear rewards and consequences. This artifact is a document that outlines specific routines and procedures that would be established during the first week of the school year. This document includes procedures and routines for the start of the day, the restroom and drinking fountain, recess, lunchtime, homework procedures, the hallway, classroom jobs, a quite signal, and dismissal procedures. In this document, these classroom routines and procedures are explained on how they would be introduced and learned by the students.
