Behavior Intervention Plan (Preschool)
During my special education field placement, I created a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) for a five year old preschooler who was diagnosed with developmental delays and a severe hearing impairment. This preschooler flung her body forwards and backwards several times during the weekly music sessions without noticing what was in front or behind her. I observed and noted this behavior over the span of six weeks, and came up with a replacement behavior and interventions that are outlined in the Behavior Intervention Plan. By creating the Behavior Intervention Plan, I developed an understanding and knowledge of this particular student. This understanding and knowledge allowed for me to develop a Behavior Intervention Plan that would be individualized and beneficial for learning to take place.
