Switzerland Custom Box

This activity invites students to explore other cultures. While students learn about the impact of Swiss geography on the transportation, the culture, the social relationships, and the economy of Switzerland, they discover the many ways in which outside forces affect a given culture. Students then select another world country and examine its relationship to America.  Through the assignment, students develop an appreciation for the similarities and unique differences among cultures.  Students can then apply this lesson to the classroom, where culturally students contribute their unique talents and beliefs to a unified learning community.

The top inside of the box contains a map that shows Switzerland's topography and political borders.  Students can use this map to answer questions.  The inner sides of the box each have facts and questions regarding a different aspect of Swiss life that is connected to geography.  Within the box, several artifacts also represent the different aspects of Swiss life.
