"Fishing for Factors" Math Game

A strong teacher devises creative ways to replace traditional forms of independent practice.  In this engaging alternative to simple multiplication drill practice, students work in pairs to practice their facts.  Unlike most multiplication drills, however, this game focuses on the many fact families of a given product.  Students must identify all factors of each product and recognize both the factors and products of each fact family.  Furthermore, the game, similar to "Go Fish," includes various modifications to ensure that students are receiving relevant practice and appropriate scaffolding.
