Appendix 5
The Social Work Interests Instrument
Indicate your current level of interest in each social work position by circling the number that best reflects your preference. Since this is not an exhaustive list, you may add other social work positions. You may also find it useful to refer back to this instrument periodically throughout your social work career. Your interests could change from time to time.

This survey has shown me that I have an interest in working in every field of social work. However, I have a much stronger interest in working with school aged children, children in the hospitals, or people in the judicial system. I would not enjoy being a policy maker, working with the elderly, or being a clinical social worker. I need more of a faster paced occupation. From past experiences at home, working with children, preferably those with special needs or people in the judicial system really interest me.
