Curriculum-Based Assessment (CBA)
Over the course of a semester, I observed a kindergarten student in an emotional support classroom. I observed her in the target area of reading to assess her present levels of performance, areas of strengths and needs, and particular interests that she had. I used this information to develop specific goals for the student to increase her ability to recognize letters, read words with the consonant-vowel-consonant pattern, and to eventually work her way up to reading simple texts on her reading level. In order to assess the progress toward these goals, I developed a CBA to align with her current instructional program. Please click on both links below to see the full CBA plan.
