Domain 4

Professional Responsibilities

Danielson's fourth domain is professional responsibilities.  Components of this fourthdomain includes: reflectin on teaching, maintaining accurate records, communicating with families, contributing to the school district, growing and developing professionally, and finally showing professionalism.  By being able to reflect on one's teaching then it will benefit towards teaching in the future and also gaining accuracy.  By maintaining accurate records, you can keep updated and see the progress of students learning.  Instructional along with noninstructional records can apply and fit into this category.  By being able to  communicate with families, you are opening the door to informing and engaging a student's family.  It is important that everyone is and stays informed.  Contributing to the school and the district deals with any relationships made with other teachers and colleagues in the environment.  Keeping engaged, active, and involved in the school and district shows your personal responsibilities and your participation. One can never stop learning.  You can always grow and develop to be more professional.  Enhancing content knowledge and pedagogical skills helps professional development.  By showing professionalism you are a advocate, make critical and responsible decisions, and most of all you are to teach students.
