Component 3a: Communicating with Students

Lesson Essential Question Bulletin Boards in the Classroom

Posted Lesson Essential Questions is one way to communicate to students the expectations of learning. Students are able to see what is expected of them at the end of every lesson or unit. They should be able to answer the essential questions since that is the goal of the lessons. For any subject, students are able to link their prior knowledge to what is going to be learned in class. On the vocabulary wall, students are able to see the words to help enrich their vocabulary as well as familiarize the students with new vocabulary words. I use the same vocabulary while teaching the lessons so that there is a uniformity in the vocabulary so students  are less likely to become confused. The posted lesson essential questions also remind me what the purpose of each lesson is and what key ideas are that students need to  take away from the lessons.
