In Spring 2018, I attended this year's Tempest Event! Stef led us in Soar Above Hate training. While I had experienced this before, it is always a good reminder that we come from different backgrounds than our students, and as teachers it is highly important for us to be able to address the tough topics in our classes.

In Fall 2017, I attened the Tempest Teach Day. An alumni, Anna spoke to us about her experiences as a new teacher. I enjoyed the event a lot, both lisenting to Anna's story and discussing with CEC what we can do.
I attended the Michele Norris lecture on race in February 2017. It was an amazing lecture and I definitely felt like I gained a lot from the conversation.

The poverty simulation was an amazing experience and something I will always carry with me as a future educator. It taught me a lot about different kinds of people and the struggles some of my future students might face.
