Elizabethtown College BS in Computer Engineering
ABET ACCREDITED

This four-year program offered by the departments of Physics & Engineering and Computer Science emphasizes both computer hardware and software design. The computer engineering curriculum begins with a rigorous scientific foundation of courses in calculus through differential equations and calculus-based physics. Students are also challenged with course sequences in analog circuit design, digital circuit design, computer architectures, signals, systems, & control theory, and computer programming including both high-level-language and systems-level programming. Exciting electives are available in many subjects including robotics, artificial intelligence, simulation, networking, compiler design, data-base design, and device physics.

Computer Engineering students are given many opportunities to conduct student research. This begins in their freshman year with engineering design courses and culminates with an in-depth senior project. Much of this work has been in robotics & machine intelligence and has led to conference publications and international robotics competitions in Michigan, South Carolina, Jamaica, Japan, and Italy. For more on the new lab space for our Robotics and Machine Lab in our new $20,000,000 Science and Engineering building, see HERE

Elizabethtown College Computer Engineering graduates are equally prepared to pursue graduate studies or enter careers in a variety of high-tech industries; and they are taught to apply their deep and broad-based scientific knowledge to meet the demands and challenges of a rapidly changing world. They are motivated towards life-long learning, continuous professional development, unwavering high ethical standards, and service to their local communities and the world at large.
