Crisis Prevention Intervention Training:  During a 9-hour workshop, learned how to recognize and respond to dangerous situations that could potentially occur in a classroom.  This workshop emphasized nonviolent methods for solving problems that may potentially escalate to become dangerous.  In this training, I practiced steps of recognizing and responding to students with escalating behaviors.  This course focused on the prevention of these behaviors and taught safety-oriented, nonviolent responses to verbal and physical behaviors in the classroom.  While I do not ever hope to be in a situation that requires me to respond to these escalating behaviors, I feel more prepared having practiced responses to these behaviors in a CPI training and feel that I can better respond to problem behaviors in general.
