Instruction is the backdrop in the art of teaching. Acquiring, implementing, and integrating a variety of teaching practices and strategies molds and shapes student achievement, which in turn creates a masterpiece. In order for instruction to be most effective it must contain learning experiences that are engaging, hands- on, authentic, relevant, relatable, and responsive to the multitude of diverse student needs. With these components, instruction is effective and in turn student excellence is attainable. Another aspect of instruction is flexibility and responsiveness. A teacher needs to be able to think on their feet and change instruction to meet their students' current needs. Without all of these instructional competencies instruction would be less effective. Essential questions could not be explored and answered, objectives would not be met, and goals would not be achievable.
