This Assessment Report was conducted based off of a fictional case study in which I had to gather and interpret data and assessment results in an effort to answer the question: Should the student be referred for special education services in regards to their academic struggles, or should they remain in the general education classroom receiving the tier 2 and reading group instruction they are currently getting? When interpreting the fictional data given I was able to acquire knowledge of the students’ skills, knowledge, language proficiency, and special needs.  Having this information I was able to attain an understanding of how the student learns and overall what the best LRE setting would be. This artifact exemplifies my ability to take data and use it to assemble and design a curriculum and instruction fit for a student and their individualized needs. This document also demonstrates my knowledge of assessment measures that can be utilized to determine the LRE that a student would benefit from the most, as well as resources that can be used for the academic placement of students across settings as well as within the RTI tiered system.
