Kindergarten Lesson: Comparing Weights (2b)

In kindergarten especially, it is critical to provide a chance for the students to be active in their own learning, and also, if possible, to make connections to prior experiences they have had. Through my EveryDay Mathematics lesson, I was to introduce the idea of weight as well as the use of a rocker balance. To engage the students in their learning and provide individual learning, I had the students pretend they were seesaws, and use their arms to show the rest of the class how a seesaw would like between comparing two objects.
