Case Study: Second Grade (1b)
In the course of my Methods Block placement in a second grade classroom, I had the opportunity to choose a student in my class room to complete a case study on. Choosing a student have difficulty in reading and writing, I observed the student on several occasions, completing anecdotal records during each observation. Conducting a miscue analysis on the student as well as reading and writing interviews, I was able to brainstorm and create the possible strategies I felt the student should focus on to further in ability in reading and writing in her classroom. Through completing this case study on my student, I demonstrated my knowledge of my student, knowledge of resources to use, and student assessments by using the miscue analysis.
