Social Skills Lesson

When given the opportunity to plan a social skills lesson for my special education methods block placement, the topic of focus was very evident. Where my students were developmentally and with their emotional and behavioral disabilities, they had difficulty admitting and accepting when they were wrong. With this social skill missing with the students in the class, the room was often times very tense and time was spent trying to resolve conflicts. The lesson was successful and I was able to see them thinking through each of the steps. Even though the students will still need practice with this skill, it was a good beginning lesson for them to engage in.
