Science Insect Song

During my student teaching experience in second grade, I had the opportunity of using the FOSS curriculum program to teach my students about insects. The following video clip was recorded during the middle of the insect unit. After spending a lot of time simply reviewing vocabulary, I decided that the students needed some more time to get up and move throughout the day. For the students to remember the body parts of all insects, I taught them the body part song to the tune of "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes." The students lit up every time we sang the song and were able to learn and understand their vocabulary at the same time.
